Vedilink Community Guidelines

Healthy and open discussion has always been a part of our culture.

We encourage you to take a look and familiarize yourself with our guidelines, we’ve put together these clues to the ensure interactions taking place each day on our platform help our members be more productive and successful, and are free of inappropriate and unwanted content or behavior. These principles, which we continue to develop, provide guidance and rules for the use of our platform. They help create an environment where we can come together as a community in pursuit of our shared mission and help each other.

We know the fact that, at times, finding the right balance between healthy scientific debate and a respect for other people’s opinions can be tricky.

Here are some key things to remember as you communicate:

Be responsible. What you say and do matters. You’re responsible for your words and actions and you’ll be held accountable for them.

Be helpful. Your voice is your contribution — make it productive.

Be thoughtful. Your statements can be attributed to Vedilink regardless of your intent, and you should be thoughtful about making statements that could cause others to make incorrect assumptions.

Be yourself

An original is worth more than a copy. What we mean to say is to use your real identity. Our members must be real people, who provide their real identity, using their real names, real photos, and accurate information about themselves.

We don’t allow fake profiles on our platform and it’s not okay to provide misleading or deceptive information about yourself, your qualifications, work experience, affiliations, or achievements.

You may not impersonate others or mislead, confuse, or deceive. Pretending to be someone else or representing a business in a way that’s not truthful is not allowed. You’re not allowed to use an image of someone else or otherwise upload content that has been manipulated to deceive. You likewise may not associate yourself on Vedilink with a professor or an organization that you are not actually associated with. You may not use or attempt to use another person’s Vedilink account or create a profile for anyone other than yourself.

Stay respectful and embrace diversity

We believe that scientific disagreements and healthy scientific debate can lead to great progress. To facilitate these important conversations, we ask that our members respect each other’s ideas and acknowledge the diversity of thought and opinion.

We need to give each other the space to grow, to be ourselves, to exercise our diversity. We need to give each other space so that we may both give and receive such beautiful things as ideas, openness, dignity, joy, healing, and inclusion.

Harassment, defamatory and derogatory comments, explicit comments and content, and hate speech will not be tolerated. This includes personal attacks and attacks on other people based on their Race, Ethnicity, National origin, Religious affiliation, Sexual orientation, or gender identity, Age, Serious disease or disability.

Respect others and our platform

Don’t violate the rights of our platform. For more information about what this means, see our User Agreement. It’s not okay to suggest that you’re affiliated with or endorsed by Vedilink when you’re not.

Don’t violate our intellectual property rights, scrape our services, or interfere with or disrupt the services which are meant to facilitate the connection between professors and students.
